Fire Risk Assessments

"FIRE RISK ASSESSING"
Assessing the Risks that Hazards pose to Occupants within a building and ensuring there are adequate Control Measures in place.

Under the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 all commercial buildings are required to carry out a suitable and sufficient Fire Risk Assessment.
The FRA must review any Fire Protection Measures in place and ensure they are adequate or report what additional Precautions are required to reduce the risks to relevant persons.

The FSO also covers the communal parts of HMO's and blocks of flats but does not cover the inside a dwelling.
As the FSO is only relevant to occupied buildings, any new building is subject to a Fire Strategy being developed during the design stage which is essentially an assumed Fire Risk Assessment based on the type of occupants who are intending to use the property.

This Fire Strategy will identify what Fire Precautions are required to meet Building Regulations.

FIRE RISK ASSESSMENTS

A Fire Risk Assessment will detail all the hazards on your site that presents Risks to its occupants.  Paper being stored next to a radiant bar heater or extended Travel Distances which may delay the safe Evacuation of its occupants.

The FRA will also review the existing Fire Precautions such as Fire Detection, Emergency Lighting, Fire Stopping and Fire Doors to ensure they are still adequate.

In an easy to read format and in line with PAS79 our Fire Risk Assessments will allow you to comply with the current legislation and act upon the significant findings as required.

FIRE STRATEGIES

Once identified each breach can then be repaired with the appropriate material or product. A unique tag will be placed next to the Fire Stopping installation identifying the installer and the product used to achieve what Fire Resisting period.

All of our engineers have been trained specifically by our preferred manufacturer in all aspects of specification, application and installation for all of their products to provide further evidence of competency.

FIRE STOPPING CASE STUDIES

LINTON HOTEL
Providing Fire Stopping Inspections during the refurbishment of a care home to a hotel.

We provided the  inspections and technical product support for the on site team to install during the building works, finalising with a Fire Risk Assessment before the hotel was occupied.
